Why We Feed our Unique Dobermans Raw Bones and Natural Food
We here at Unique Dobermans feed a grain free high quality kibble along with steamed Normandy vegetables, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, raw and cooked meat, pressure cooked poultry bones and all and any other high quality and unprocessed food. Our kibble is from Costco, their puppy food in the yellow bag. We have also fed our puppies Taste of the Wild.
Keep your Unique Doberman puppy in a healthy weight, if you don't know what that is please take him to your veterinarian, or better yet keep in close contact with your breeder (ME), you don't want an overfed puppy as it could lead to bone growth issues, nor do you want your puppy's growth stunted by being feed too little.

We also "Free Feed" our active Dobermans.
Each of our Unique Dobermans has it's own private bedroom with heated tile floors, fresh water in an auto water which comes directly from our 380 foot deep artesian well, and each bedroom also holds a 35 lb sack of high quality dry kibble in a free feeder which is either filled with Sport Dog Food.
Never feed more than 30% Protein!
Our Dobermans are also feed steamed vegetables with pressure cooked poultry each week.
Each Unique Doberman is an individual with different needs and each is feed accordingly.
Our treasured mothers are fed a high quality diet which resembles our puppy diet. Our mothers are also feed high quality NUVET vitamin supplements for the demanding milk production.
Our Champion working and family Dobermans are very healthy and fit and hence therefore we are blessed with very large and vigorous litters of Doberman puppies to feed!

SATAN BALL RECIPE:
Ingredients:
10 pounds quality hamburger meat with high fat content
1 lg. box of Total cereal
1 lg. box old fashioned oatmeal
1 jar of wheat germ
1 1/4 cup coconut oil
1 1/4 cup of unsulfured molasses
10 raw eggs AND shells smashed into small pieces
10 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
pinch of salt
Bloat happens quickly and is often fatal without immediate veterinary attention and surgery.
Its symptoms include retching with no vomiting, extreme salivation, obvious discomfort, and distention of the abdomen. Gulping food can bring on an attack of bloat, and it is often recommended that dogs should be fed twice daily to avoid the hunger pangs that lead to eating too fast. We also believe that foods containing soybeans, corn or peas shouldn’t be fed to breeds that are susceptible to bloat because the beans can produce gas, those are 100% GMO Food unless labeled ORGANIC.
Many cases of bloat occur in the evening, after the dog has perhaps shared the family snack of pizza or some other highly-spiced food and then exercised. Treatment is expensive and not always successful. Feeding moistened dog food and postponing exercise for a couple of hours after the meal may help prevent bloat.
Here at Unique Dobermans we have been fortunate to have never had a Doberman suffer from Bloat.
A Doberman puppy buyer called from the midwest to ask our opinion on having her female Dobermans stomach stapled while she was being spayed to "Prevent Bloat", we told her it was our practice to not try and fix something that wasn't broken. While speaking to our local veterinarian about this topic they also told us that the stomach stapling surgery is not without it's own risks or complications.
Ingredients:
10 pounds quality hamburger meat with high fat content

- Mix all ingredients together with your hands, much like you would a meatloaf.
- Divide into meatball shaped balls.
- Place meatballs onto baking sheets and freeze.
- Thaw as needed and feed raw!
- Satin Balls are also a great way to feed medications as pills are easily hidden inside.

Bloat is a problem of deep chested dog, possibly why we don't have issues with bloat is that our breeding dogs are athletes, competing in mentally and physically challenging IPO/Schutzhund sports and come from German and European bloodlines, not American show dogs that can be "Overdone" in the front which creates the deep and in our eyes an unbalanced chest.

This is a photo of our Gero, he was imported from Germany and was a working dog. He was not overdone in the chest and had a strong and correctly built hind leg which was able to carry him over large jumps. The father of the dog on the left is reported to have died of Bloat.
